Adult's Classes
| Why Dance? |
| Dance is a great
way to get and stay fit, challenge the brain, forget your troubles and is a
great social hobby too. It helps improve co-ordination in all ages and
keeps joints and muscles, loose and supple. Adults join the classes for many different reasons but the majority stay because they soon realise there is no other exercise or art form quite like dance. All adult students get the opportunity to take the IDTA popular Adult Medal Tests after a sufficient period of study and to take part in our shows. Or you can just take the classes purely for enjoyment. Whether you have danced before or not you will get a very warm welcome at any of our adult classes

The adult ballet classes follow a similar format to the children's classes. We do a thorough warm-up at the barre and then move onto centre work concentrating on developing musicality and expression. The class mixes between exercises that stay the same for several weeks and new exercises taught at each class. This class is ideal for anyone wishing to improve muscle tone, grace, posture and for those that appreciate relaxing and classical music. ADULT TAP Tap is a great choice for all ages. It helps rhythm, co-ordination and flexibility in both the knees and ankles. Routines are rhythmic and fun and are danced to a wide variety of music - jazz, show tunes, rock and roll, latin, country - you can tap to anything! Above all it is fun and a great form of exercise. We have classes to suit beginners to more advanced students. ADULT FREESTYLE The adult freestyle class is the most
eclectic class we have. The class begins with an aerobic warm up and then
develops on to class work. Students then learn a variety of routines ranging
from Street dance to Samba. We are always learning a new routine so students
can join classes midway through a term. |
